Process, Operations, Governance
Process, Operations, and Governance services optimize - and often transform - the way organizations work.  A well-oiled machine translates into better stakeholder and customer experiences, and ultimately a greater bottom line.

SERVICE OFFERINGS

  • New Process Development

Mapping out key activities and accountabilities, establishing entry and exit criteria and defining the necessary handoffs from one area to another.  Efficient processes get the client from start to finish in the most expeditious way possible.

  • Process Optimization & Transformation

Optimizing processes with the objective of maximizing throughput or realizing some cost savings.  By decomposing existing processes node-by-node, extraneous steps are often found.  Process transformation, on the other hand, goes beyond optimization in that significant ‘enablers’ (e.g., better/new automation) are typically implemented.  Transformation work often results in a more dramatic impact to the bottom line.

  • Policy Creation

Collaborating with leaders and subject matter experts in establishing those formal rules mandating how things must work.  From defining specific roles and accountabilities to establishing the decision rights framework, well-written policies are the foundation of sound governance.

  • Performance Metrics Development

Formulating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – meaningful, measurable, and actionable information providing clear visibility into the operation.  Metrics conveying quality of output, velocity and throughput, and performance over time enable managers to quickly respond and make adjustments along the way.

  • Governance Committee Formation

Establishing charters – scope of authority and accountability, context and operating framework, oversight and purview, mechanisms for visibility and transparency.

  • Standard Operating Procedure Writing

Documenting clear, easy-to-follow instructions for workers to perform routine duties.  Well-written SOPs promote repeatability and predictability, and contribute to operational excellence.

  • And many other Process, Operations, and Governance services that drive efficiencies and heighten effectiveness.

CASE STUDIES

A private equity firm enlisted RFC’s policy creation services to help author a variety of risk-related policies.

A mortgage servicing and origination company faced excessive processing exceptions in their operation. A Root Cause Analysis found that most errors were a direct result of workers not fully understanding how to perform their duties.  RFC published a fulsome set of Standard Operating Procedures.  These SOPs improved quality -- and also demonstrated to the regulator that the company was in control of its operation.

A national financial services institution enlisted the services of RFC to build a release planning and management process. Results achieved included better control and visibility around the timing of capabilities released.  Ultimately, this FSI enjoyed a more predictable and stable environment.

A digital media startup enlisted RFC’s new process development services.    An ideation framework was implemented, enabling leaders to more wisely invest in only those highly viable product ideas with promising returns.

A global retailer serving a corporate segment as well as end consumers asked RFC to evaluate their end-to-end sales process.  Through significant process transformation, sales cycle time decreased by nearly 50%.

A leading consumer products company sought to extend their existing project methodology to include benefit achievement tracking.  RFC’s process optimization work included, among other things, the requirement for project sponsors to formally declare anticipated business benefits as well as the operational metrics to track achievement in their initial business cases.
